Fall 2021 Program:
Visual Arts: Lascaux Program (Introductory)
Wednesday Sept 1 – December 15th, 2021
(No Class Thanksgiving Week)
6:30 – 8:00 p.m. at Michelle’s Place Cancer Resource Center, Temecula, CA
This class is an introduction to Visual Art. Painting and Drawing are the primary mediums. Observation and self-expression are stressed; assignments will include still life and self portraiture. Students will increase their awareness of content in Visual Art, and create original narrative work.
Class will include teacher instruction, independent work time, and meditation. Students will have the opportunity to view and analyze various works of art from master artists. Students will have access to visits and lectures from guest artists, portfolio tips, field trips, and opportunity to apply for advanced track classes for Spring 2022.
Spring 2022 Programs:
Visual Arts: Vermeer Program (Advanced)
Wednesday (Fine Art and Concept Art)
January 12th – May 18th, 2022 (No Class March 23rd or 30th)
6:30 – 8:00 p.m. at Michelle’s Place Cancer Resource Center, Temecula
The Advanced track for Visual Art includes Fine Art and Illustration & Concept Art. The Fine Art class focuses on Painting, Drawing, Collage and Mixed Media. There will still be an emphasis on observation and self-expression, along with problem-solving and creating original content. Assignments will include inspiration from master artists and require original thought. Emphasis will be on storytelling and personal narrative. Students will work towards a body of work and artist statement.
Class will include teacher instruction, technique assignments, independent narrative work, and meditation. Students will have the opportunity to view and analyze various works of art from master artists. Students will have access to artist-quality supplies, guest artists, field trips, and portfolio tips. Summer camp scholarships will be awarded for select students if funding permits.
